We can’t talk about Happy Hour on Maui without Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman coming to mind!
With a “commitment to craft” in farming, cuisine and mixology, the restaurant was launched by Chef Peter Merriman, one of the founders of Hawai‘i Regional Cuisine. The statewide farm-to-table movement helped showcase ingredients close to home and encouraged a local-inspired way of thinking.
What’s in a Name?
The Monkeypod tree, which thrives in Hawai‘i, has a single stalk with branches that spread into a wide canopy. Unlike other trees, Monkeypod leaves release nitrogen to naturally “fix” and fertize the soil beneath the tree. Meaning? “The grass is always greener under the Monkeypod tree, literally.”
The restaurant likens this to their spirit of Aloha that nurtures everyone under its canopy, making it a welcoming, friendly, fun place to be.
Happy Hour Every Day
We felt like Monkeypod belonged on our top Happy Hour list for several reasons, like…
🍹Specials on “culinary cocktails” (what are those?? Find out in our video above)
🍻Several dollars off on beer & wine
🥃Experienced, creative mixologists
🍕Deals on many appetizers & pizzas
🤙Good vibes inside & outside
Happy hour goes from 3:30 to 5 p.m. every day. The specials include 1/2 off appetizers (with a few exceptions), $12 pizzas (other than the bourgeois pizza), $4 off those handcrafted culinary cocktails. $3 off wine by the glass and $2 off draft beers.
Meaningful Times at Monkeypod Kitchen
